Starting on main trails from Lukla, after flying in from Kathmandu where walk leads through many nice villages along the route to high Namche Bazaar, after heading past Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo. The park added to the list of World Heritage Sites in 1979 includes beautiful woodland and rare mountain animals and exotic bird-life of different species.
From Namche after rest with acclimatization days in this famous town and village which was once the main spot of Old Trans Himalayan Salt Trade and Caravan Route of Nepal and Tibet, where trade still exists but in small ways.
After Namche heading to sleepy villages of Khunde and Khumjung located on a scenic glacial valley, which is different to other main villages on route, from here our walk leads on the quiet trail towards Gokyo Valley away from main flow of trekkers.
As walk leads past forest of pines and rhododendron to enter a gorge at Dole and then entering to a wide open valley at Gokyo where tree lines and green vegetation drops for arid and barren beautiful country.
Gokyo Valley blessed with natural wonders of emerald colored glacial lakes with high giant mountains Cho-Oyu the sixth world’s highest mountains straddles the border between Nepal and Tibet.
At Gokyo climb up to high hill at Gokyo-Ri for breathtaking panorama of Cho-Oyu, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu towards east with amazing views of Ngozumba glaciers down below with the lakes of Gokyo.
Completing our fantastic journey around Gokyo valley walk leads to alternative route through isolated village of Phortse and then on the main trail from Pangboche towards magnificent Thyangboche Monastery to reach back to Lukla for short panoramic flight to Kathmandu.
