Everest Panorama Trekking

  • Day 01 On arrival in Kathmandu meet our staff for transfer to hotel.

    On reaching Kathmandu International Airport received by our guide and staff and then transfer to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu.

    After checking in your rooms join with other members of the group for Everest Panorama Trek briefing with other related information required during your stay with us, needful information provided by our expert guides and company staff.


  • Day 02 Fly to Lukla 2,820 m (30 mins) and trek to Phakding 2,640 m - 04 hrs.

    Early morning transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport for short scenic flight to Lukla, the door to various adventures around Khumbu and Everest region.

    Lukla, in early days was a goat and sheep grazing pasture, hence the name ‘Luk’ means Sheep and  'La' as pasture in Tibetan origin language.

    The name still exists, as the airport came into existence (built with the help of Hillary) then main flow of visitors began to pour in, making at present Lukla one of the major town of Khumbu after Namche Bazaar.

    Walk begins with pleasant winding path following past Sherpa farm villages with views of Kongde and Kusum-Khanguru to reach our first overnight stop at Phakding, located by the Dudh Kosi River. 

  • Day 03 Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m - 06 hrs.

    Today walks takes you to famous Namche Bazaar where altitude gains as walk progress slowly. Morning starts following Dudh Kosi River crossing several times the same river to reach Monjo village close to Sagarmatha National Park entrance.

    (Sagarmatha for Everest in Nepalese and Sherpa calls Chomolungma meaning Great Mother in both languages). Sagarmatha National Park added to the list of World Heritage Sites in 1979.

    From here walk on river valley and gorge covered within nice woodland of tall rhododendron-pines and fir trees.

    After crossing last high bridge few hour climb to reach at Namche Bazaar facing views of Bhote kosi and Kongde peaks, Namche Bazaar at an altitude 4,440 m high a perfect spot for rest day and acclimatization.

    Namche Bazaar a main town and a large village of Khumbu area, where colorful busy Saturday market takes place once a week.

  • Day 04 Trek from Namche Bazar to Khunde 3,880 m and Khumjung 3,670 m - 05 hrs.

    Morning walk leads to a climb north of Namche with bird eye views of Namche Bazaar including super panorama of snowcapped peaks, as climb nears the ridge-top at Syangboche old small airstrip.

    This airstrip was built to ferry customers of Everest View Hotel, the first luxury hotel ever to be established around Khumbu area.

    From here a gradual walk and short climb then descend to a glacial valley at Khunde village and visit its only hospital built with support of late Sir Edmund Hillary (first man to reach the summit of Mt. Everest in May 29th 1953 with late Tenzing Norgay Sherpa).

    After an interesting tour and acquiring information and history of the only hospital of Khumbu area, then a slow downhill walk to reach at Khumjung where Hillary also built the only high school of Khumbu.

    At Khumjung after checking into your rooms after lunch visit Khumjung monastery, the oldest Gompa of Everest region, where a scalp believed to be of Yeti treasured in a safe glass box for visitors to see with some donation.

    Khunde and Khumjung located on a scenic glacial valley beneath the holy peak of Khumbila stand high at 5,761m (Patron God of Khumbu Sherpa).

    Afternoon relax and enjoy the views and walk around its nice village.

  • Day 05 Trek from Khumjung to Tengboche Monastery via Phortse sherpa village, 3,867 m - 06 hrs.

    After a pleasant time at Khumjung village, morning walk on scenic and gradual trail with views of Everest and other giant peaks, as our route leads downhill towards Sanasa.But we veer left to the Goyo lake route to Mongla dada just before hitting sanasa.It will take about two hrs from khumjung to get to the Mongla dada on gradual uphill walk.Mong la dada is a small hill top mountain pass which is a vantage point especially for Amadablam and Thamserku.You will be stunned by seeing a mesmerising panoramic view of mountains and landscapes.Phortse is typical sherpa village that is situated just across of Mongla Danda that’s where we will be having our lunch. After descending half an hour, we get down to Phortse Tenga, small lodge place by the bank of Dudkoshi river. We will cross the river there and ascend  about 45 minutes to get to Phortse village. After having hearty lunch, we walk down for half an hour to cross Imja river and start climbing through lush green forest of pine, magnolia and rhododendron on a cool shade for about an hour to reach Tengboche.

    Tengboche is one of the most beautiful and charming places around Himalaya with an interesting monastery facing views of surrounding high peaks with Mt. Everest and majestic Amadablam.

    The area surrounded by dense alpine forest where rare and elusive wild-lives are seen sometimes in this tranquil and scenic spot at Tengboche Monastery.

    Here with time for tour of the monastery and witness monks and priest on prayer chanting. Tengboche Monastery is one of the main religious places for Khumbu Sherpa, where once a year in the month of October and early November as per Buddhist Luna calendar, a great festival is held, called Mani-Rimdu which will be exciting to witness.

  • Day 06 Trek from Tengboche to Monjo, 06 hrs.

    From Tengboche an easy walk on downhill within forested area to reach Imjatse River  which later joins Dudh Kosi River, from the bridge a slow climb for an hour to reach Kyanjima.From here, we walk down-hill all the way to Dudh Kosi River and then on the river bank walking past Jorsalle village, crossing bridges with short climb to the entrance and exit of Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo village where  we have over night stop.

  • Day 07 Trek from Monjo to Lukla - 05 hrs.

    Our last day trek of this marvelous adventure ends at Lukla, where morning walk follows Dudh Kosi River for sometimes, and then on pleasant scenic trail with last uphill to reach at Lukla for final overnight stop around Khumbu and Everest region.

    Afternoon at leisure for short walks around Lukla town and its small markets with unique airstrip and airport named after legendry mountaineers Tenzing and Hillary. 

  • Day 08 Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to your hotels.

    Morning transfer to Tenzing-Hillary airport at Lukla, where scenic short flight brings you back at hustle and bustle city life of Kathmandu, and then transfer to your respective hotels, with afternoon free at leisure for individual activities’. 

  • Day 09 In Kathmandu free day as contingency with optional tour.

    Himalayan Gateway Trekking reserves this spare day as contingency in case of flight delay and cancellation at Lukla, which often occurs due to bad weather.

    If all goes well according to our itinerary program with flights as scheduled where you can have options of sightseeing tours at places of interest or just relax with memories of the adventure.

  • Day 10 International departure for homeward bound.

    Last day in Nepal country of Himalayan wonders, as per your flight homeward bound or to next respective connecting countries, depart from the hotel for Kathmandu international airport with fond memories of great marvelous adventure of a lifetime experience on Everest Panorama Trek.
