Chulu East Peak Climb Itinerary

  • Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

    On arrival at Kathmandu Airport received by our guide and staff with transportation to your respective hotels in the hub of Kathmandu at Thamel, an exciting place in Kathmandu, after checking in your rooms join with other member in the group of Chulu East Peak Climb with Annapurna Circuit Trekking briefing provided by our guides or leaders.

    Evening includes group welcome dinner in a pleasant authentic Nepalese Restaurant with culture programs with your dinner.

  • Day 2 In Kathmandu with half-day tour at places of interest.

    Reserve this day for optional sightseeing tour around best interesting places of Kathmandu visiting world heritage sites of great wonders, where Hindu and Buddhism religions blends in perfect harmony.

    After an interesting tour with time for preparation Chulu East Peak Climb, starting early morning departure from the hotel.

  • Day 3 Drive to Jagat 1,290 m via Besisar 800 m - 08 hrs.

    Morning taking a tourist coach or smaller vehicle as per group size for overland drive that leads you away and beyond Kathmandu valley heading low warmer areas with views of snowcapped mountains. As drive continues on busy main highway past farm villages and town then heading Nepal Mid-West to reach at Lamjung area in Besisar town.

    From here drive continues on rough jeep road heading higher up past farm villages and well. Crops terraced as our drive ends at Jagat village for overnight stop, in this nice village.

  • Day 4 Trek to Dharapani 1,920 m - 05 hours.

    From Jagat, our first day walk begins, starting on winding path to Chamje, and to raging Marsyangdi River, and into forested area with super views of Annapurna and Manaslu range, walk continues reaching at Tal village located on a nice valley, after Tal another 2 hours walk to Dharapani village for overnight stop.

    Dharapani a nice village with Buddhist culture, situated on the junction of Annapurna circuit and Manaslu trekking trail.

  • Day 5 Trek to Chame 2,670 m - 05 hours.

    Start the morning walk a into cool rhododendron and pine forest passing villages of Bagarchap and Danque, then to Timang village from here onwards into more Buddhist area, with super view of Mt. Manaslu 8,163m / 26,781ft, from this village few hours trek leads to a large town at Chame for overnight stop, a major town and headquarter of Manang district.

  • Day 6 Trek to Pisang 3, 230 m - 05 hrs.

    From here onward air gets cooler as walk gets closer into mountains through beautiful forest of rhododendron and pine trees, following Masrsyangdi River upstream to Bhratang village.

    As walk leads uphill into pine trees to Dhukure Pokhari a small place with few lodge and views of Chulu and Pisang peak, after a lunch stop walk downhill to Pisang village for overnight stop. 

  • Day 7 Rest day at Pisang for acclimatization and short hike.

    A full day in Pisang village to support with acclimatization before heading higher terrain beyond Manang valley, where one can take a rest and short hike that helps you to acclimatize well walking up and sleeping low the best options to deal against altitude sickness or AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness).

    Pisang, a nice weather beaten village with series of prayer wheels on the path, with upper Pisang where you can enjoy hike to its old monastery of great interest and to catch marvelous scenery of the whole valley with range of peaks.

  • Day 8 Trek to Julu village 3,930m via Ngawal village 3,657m - 06 hrs.

    From Pisang village, walking off the route of Annapurna circuit trail for few days where walk leads into complete wilderness, heading higher above Nagawa village and towards North West into more arid and dry terrain to reach at Jhulu, a small village for first camping of the trip.

  • Day 9 Trek to set Chulu East Peak base camp at 3,910m - 04 hrs.

    After Julu small village, morning walk leads to a climb into remote wilderness facing views of Chulus with Annapurna range of peaks, climb leads above scenic Manang valley towards Chulu East and Far East Peaks area, after a hard high altitude walk reaching a rocky moraines on ridges to camp for overnight, this perfect spot will be the base camp and starting point to Chulu East Peak climb.

  • Day 10 Trek and climb to Chulu East Peak high / advance camp 4,955m - 04 hrs.

    An important acclimatization day before the classic climb on top Chulu east peak summit, as well for final preparation of the climb with time to check climbing gear, our guide will check the route to make the climb more approachable and successful.

  • Day 11 Climb Chulu East Peak summit 6,584m / 21,601ft and descend to base camp.

    Our main, major goal and highlight of the adventure starting early morning before break of dawn, as climb leads over snow slopes and ridges facing steep and technical sections to reach on top Chulu East Peak; where our expert guide make the route with fix ropes with necessary arrangement to make accessible and to reach the summit.

    After a final climb reaching on the summit feeling in high spirit, enjoy surrounding magnificent panorama of mountains and descend back to base camp.

  • Day 12 Reserve day in case of bad weather condition.

    We reserve a spare and contingency day, in case of unfavorable bad weather conditions, if all goes well this spare can be used on the way before Thorang-la or on route to Jomsom.

  • Day 13 Trek to Manang Village 3,450 m - 05 hrs.

    From the base camp of Pisang East Peak walk down hill past Jhulu village to reach near Hongde a village with small air strip, as walk leads to main Manang village on route visit old Braga monastery with Buddhist relics of ancient wall painting, frescos and super panorama of Annapurna Himalaya, from here an hour walk reaches you at Manang village, where houses are similar to traditional Tibetan style including old culture and traditional life of Buddhism. 

  • Day 14 Trek to Yak Kharka 4,110 m - 04 hours.

    After a good rest at Manang, walk towards Yak Kharka, an interesting high altitude walk with views of mountains, crossing small streams to reach at Yak Kharka, a small settlement with incredible views of Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Chulu Peaks. 

  • Day 15 Trek to Thorang High Camp 4,600 m - 04 hrs.

    Morning walk leads closer to Thorang-la as the walk progress crossing a bridge and then a climb along the Jarjung River, then leading at Thorung Phedi for short rest and then climb the last hour uphill to Thorang High Camp for overnight stop. 

  • Day 16 Cross Thorang-La 5,416 m and to Muktinath 3,800 m - 07 hrs.

    Start the early morning walk on this Big Day! A thrill and highlight of this great adventure, after breakfast a long climb up to Thorang-la with steep haul to reach at 5,416 m / 17,700 ft on top of Thorang-la festooned with Buddhist prayer flags.

    Highest point of the adventure certainly requires high spirit and strong mind to reach this high point.

    The top offers superb vista landscapes and snowcapped peaks, from here a long descend to Muktinath at 3,800 m.

    Muktinath a holy place for both Hindu and Buddhist the word Muktinath literally means ‘the place for Nirvana or Liberation’.

  • Day 17 Drive to Jomsom 3,715 - 02 hrs with afternoon free to explore the town.

    After Muktinath, our walk ends where motorable has reached to Muktinath so taking an opportunity making the day shorter with exciting scenic drive downhill with big drop of 1,200m to Kaligandaki river valley, as ride leads at Kaligandaki river valley to reach at Jomsom, headquarter town of Mustang area with small airstrip above Kaligandaki River.

    At Jomsom overnight in nice lodge, around the country of Thakali people located on old Trans Himalayan trade route of Nepal and Tibet.

    Jomsom and nearby Marpha village famous for delicious apple and its products cider, brandy and juice this area from Kagbeni to Larjung is famous for apples orchard. 

  • Day 18 Morning flight to Pokhara 850 m (20 mins on air) and transfer to Hotel.

    From Jomsom where an early morning short flight takes you to land at Pokhara, during air grand views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range of peaks, on reaching at Pokhara airport transfer to respective hotels by the Phewa Lake with stunning views of Annapurna and Machhapuchare Himal ‘Fish Tail’.

  • Day 19 Drive or fly back to Kathmandu afternoon free at leisure.

    Morning taking an exciting overland journey back to Kathmandu on route witness Nepalese country farm life as drive leads past farm villages and towns and then reaching at Kathmandu around afternoon, time for individual activities and shopping souvenirs. 

  • Day 20 International departure homeward bound.

    Today, last day in amazing Nepal with great experience and fond memories of excellent adventure on top Chulu East Peak with short semi Annapurna Circuit treks, as per your time for international flight, our guide and staff transfer you to Airport for your final departure homeward bound or to your next destinations.
